Ducati Hypermotard 950: Motorcycle That Defines Great Torque And Control!

For bike riders interested in experiencing the thrill of having the ability to enjoy a high-octane, off-road game while riding their cycle, the Hypermotard three models specifically designed to test cornering – 950, 950 RVE, and 950 SP-are perfect. Whilst all this cornering, they have the utmost agility to tackle the city traffic as well.

A significant new shade that has drawn in the rider sporting world with its connotations and the colors and graphics that come with freestyle sports.

Here’s our detailed Ducati Hypermotard 950 review to give better insights about the vehicle if you are not already scared of its price!

Let’s Talk About Design!

The original purpose of the Hypermotard 950 was to resemble motards and focus on the dual under-seat exhaust and the reduced superstructures, therefore, leaving the mechanical parts fully visible, such as the trellis rear frame that communicated lightness and necessity.

The ergonomics of the motorcycle, also derived from motard, provide an optimal riding position with an upright torso and wide elbows that translates into excellent motorcycle control, while the flat seat facilitates the possibility of wide longitudinal movements.

Engine And The Gearbox!

The semi-closed 937 cc Testastretta engine provided by the Ducati Hypermotard 950 is an 11° twin-cylinder unit capable of generating 114 hp at 9,000 rpm and drawing flat-cornered torque of 70.9 lb-ft at 7,250 rpm.

However, the gearbox has been adjusted to increase the effectiveness of pedal engagement when in standby mode, and the precision in selecting gears is ensured, using the same technical solution as in the Monster and the SuperSport 950. The system envisages that the operation of the gearshift drum will be controlled by rings with reduced friction, and thereby, leading to enhanced reliability. The precautionary prior load allows the gear lever lock to remain in the old position, in order that it is ready to take control in an even more effective way.

Ducati Hypermotard 950 key Features

  • Motard Style– The Hypermotard 950’s design takes its inspiration from the motard bike, and the style progression retains the iconic double exhaust under the seat, as well as a greatly abbreviated structure that allows for a more unobstructed view of the mechanicals, including the double trellis subframe at the front that gives the motorcycle a sleek and light temperament.

  • Bike Ergonomics– The ergonomics of the motard-inspired bike is designed in such a way as to enable the rider to maintain an erect riding position with ample elbows, which therefore guarantees maximum levels of reaction and control. Furthermore, the seat of the RVE and SP models features a flat style intended to smooth up and down movement while seated.

Different Riding Modes–

  • The Sport Riding Mode as the name suggests, is well-suited to sports-style riding, on winding roads or on the racetrack, and offers full 114 hp power delivery for the Ducati twin-cylinder engine thanks to the high-performance, sport-oriented electronic setup.

  • The Touring Riding Mode is suitable for both local and cross-country trips and for those who like a comfortable and smooth ride. The 114 hp of the Ducati Twin are delivered as part of an overall electronic setup that decreases speed and power output.

  • The Urban Riding Mode is designed to drive efficiently in cities, in bad weather, and on congested roads. This is why, on the Testastretta platform, Urban Riding mode knows that the engine features dual cylinders, it has a maximum power of XX HP, and its electronic settings are made to ensure your safety.

  • Brakes– On the front end of the discs, the disc diameter is 320 mm. The disks’ aluminum flanges are (for a total weight of 600 grams), while at the back there is one disc diameter 245 mm gripped by a single Brembo caliper. This configuration of brake parts guarantees exceptional quality, which sets the standard for the automotive industry. This characteristic, however, is a common thing in all Ducati bikes.

  • Wheels And Tyres– These new brakes led to a weight reduction of 800 grams compared to those used previously for these bikes. The Hypermotard SP 950, on the other hand, is fitted with lightweight Marchesini forged rims with 3 Y-spokes, 3.5′′ section up front, and 5.5′′ at the rear.

  • Suspension– At the rear, the 950 Model SP comes equipped with a Sachs shock absorber with 150 mm of wheel travel. The Hypermotard 950 SP, on the other hand, collects all of its adjustments in a fully adjustable, 48-mm Öhlins fork having 185 mm of wheel travel and adjustable Öhlins shock absorber with 175 mm of wheel travel.

The Verdict!

For the 2022 range, which has been available from June 2021, Ducati has made the Euro 5 regulation standard for the Hypermotard 950 family and has introduced a new look for the SP version. The update ensures the same values regarding torque and output. Overall it seems Ducati has not only accepted the challenge but also has given tough competition to its potential competitors by introducing this powerful motorcycle.
